**NEW** MINDFUL RELAXATION CLASS
An hour-long floor-based class focussing on somatic mindfulness (which means body awareness). I will lead you in guided meditations while you are lying down. Somatic approaches and spending time lying on the floor can be particularly helpful for regulating the nervous system and helping to soothe long-term patterns of stress. The meditations will be 10-20 minutes long, with a leg-stretch in between. I will probably include some self-kindness meditations aswell. Suitable for meditation beginners aswell as those with some experience (adults only).

IMPORTANT INFO: My classes are helpful for stress, but are not intended to support those currently experiencing a debilitating mental health condition, or severe emotional distress. They are also for adults only (18yrs+). If you have a physical restriction (eg postural, hearing, pregnancy etc), please let me know so that I can suggest any relevant modifications when we meditate. Please note there are no chairs at this venue, so if you are unable to lie on the floor you may prefer to look at my workshops which take place at a different venue. WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable layers of clothes and bring socks, as it’s a shoe-free room. You can bring a bottle of water and a light blanket for extra comfort (eg a fleece one like a yoga blanket, or a meditation shawl). Mats are provided and I do have some blankets you can borrow. Any sharp or chunky jewellery will need to be removed to protect the mats.
COST: £9 or £7 conc* per class (cash only – I do not have card payment facilities)
LOCATION: the Heatons Studio in Heaton Moor (next to Avanti restaurant – you can find a map on the studio’s website here)
TIMES & DATES: 11.45am on Saturdays. Please arrive a few minutes before the class starts, as I am not able to admit late arrivals. The class lasts 1 hour. You don’t need to come every week, but you do need to book a space as there are limited mats. There will be classes on the following dates:
NO CLASS on 18th May
The class will run weekly to begin with, but there will be some weeks without a class.
*Choose the rate that feels right for your circumstances. I am happy for you to pay the reduced rate if you are on a low income, especially if you come to classes regularly.
EVENING WELLBEING CLASSES
Before attending, please see the Important Info below. You don’t need to book in advance for the evening drop-in class, but please read the information to ensure the class is suitable for you.
You can find dates of upcoming classes below. There is no ‘set pattern’ to dates, but I usually run one every month, so keep an eye on the website for the next couple I’ve scheduled.
Each time there is a different theme and I share ideas for mindful living, plus a guided meditation and we have some space for discussion. We stay seated on regular chairs for the meditation.
Classes start at 7.30pm and the structured part ends at 8.30 when we have an informal cup of tea (it’s fine to leave at 8.30 if you can’t stay).
Cost: £9 – cash only (I don’t have facilities to take card payment)

Venue: The Heatons Centre, Heaton Moor, Thornfield Road, Stockport SK4 3LD (next to the library). When you arrive you will see a note on the door telling you which room buzzer to press for entry. If you don’t know the venue, please get in touch for further details.
PLEASE NOTE that you need to arrive a few minutes before we start at 7.30pm, as I’m not able to come down to let people in after we’ve started. Please avoid pressing the buzzer after 7.30 so as not to disturb the class.
